Privacy Policy
Effective September 22, 2026
This policy explains what AltiDial VoIP Communications ("AltiDial," "we," "us") collects through the AltiDial Android app and this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. AltiDial is a SIP softphone: it can be used with your own SIP account, in which case call signaling and media go directly to your SIP provider and never touch our servers, or with an AltiDial Business account, in which case some of your data is processed on our backend as described below.
1. Account information
If you sign in with an AltiDial Business account, we collect the email address and password you register with. Your password is never stored in plain text. On successful login, our server issues your device a short-lived access token and a refresh token, and auto-provisions a SIP account (SIP username, password, and domain) that your device uses to register for calling. These tokens and SIP credentials are stored on your device only, in the app's private storage.
If you instead choose "Use third-party server" and sign in with your own SIP provider, your credentials are sent directly to that provider, not to AltiDial's servers, and this section does not apply to that connection.
2. Calls, contacts, and recordings
Call history. For AltiDial Business accounts, we log each call's direction, the caller and callee numbers and names, start time, duration, and status (answered, missed, busy, etc.), so your call log stays available across reinstalls and devices. You can delete individual entries or clear your history at any time from the app.
Contacts. With your permission, the app reads and writes your device's contacts to support dialing and lookup. If you use an AltiDial Business account, contact names, numbers, and favorite status are also synced to our servers so your contacts stay consistent across devices. We do not use your contacts for advertising or share them with third parties.
Call recording. AltiDial Business accounts can optionally enable call recording. When enabled, calls are recorded server-side and stored securely; you can access your own recordings through time-limited, signed links, and delete them at any time. Recording is off unless you turn it on, and you are responsible for complying with any laws in your jurisdiction that require notifying or obtaining consent from the other party before recording a call. See the call recording section of our Terms.
3. Device and technical data
- Microphone and audio. Required to place and receive calls; audio is only captured during an active call.
- Push notifications. We register your device's Firebase Cloud Messaging token, platform, and app version with our servers so incoming calls can wake the app even when it's not in the foreground. You can disable push notifications in Settings.
- Network and Bluetooth. Used to maintain your SIP registration and route call audio to a connected headset.
- Diagnostic logs. Standard technical logs (e.g. connection errors) may be generated locally to help troubleshoot registration and call issues.
4. How we use this data
We use the data above to operate core functionality: authenticating you, registering and routing your calls, keeping your contacts and call history in sync, delivering incoming-call push notifications, and providing customer support. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your call content, contacts, or call history for advertising.
6. Data retention and your choices
Call history, contacts, and recordings are retained for as long as your account is active, or until you delete them individually. You can delete call log entries, contacts, and recordings at any time from within the app. To close your account and request deletion of your associated data, contact us at the email below.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data in transit and at rest, including encrypted connections between the app and our servers, and short-lived access tokens with refresh-based renewal. No system is completely secure, and we encourage you to keep your password private and your app up to date.
8. Children's privacy
AltiDial is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above, and significant changes will be highlighted in the app or on this website.
